Our space includes professionally designed dance, music, theatre, and visual arts studios, along with practice rooms, a costume lab, student commons, and academic classrooms.
Just down the street is our very own James Theater, a performance space that readily transforms from black box to recital stage to theatre lab.

From the moment students arrive on campus, they are surrounded by passionate educators, a director of Student Life with a career in social work, incredible living quarters, and a 24-hour community of residential assistants. Our student-centered support makes all the difference in the success of high school, college and beyond.
Within driving distance? Join us! Commuter students are supported world-renowned staff and a rich student life program! While students can choose to major in dance, theatre arts, music, visual arts, or design & production, they also practice their craft in an interdisciplinary, project-based learning setting, collaborating with other artists to build real-world experience. Downtown Iowa City has accessible parking, a rich arts scene, plenty of places to grab coffee or lunch, and it’s all located in a safe vibrant community.
