Students love it here.
You could too.

“There are not enough words to describe what my time at ICON has meant to me. Every single teacher, faculty member and student has made such a lasting impact on me and my artistry.” — LONDYN KIROL ’24

“I genuinely mean it when I say that my time at ICON has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. This school has not only helped me hone and enhance my skills as a musical theatre major, but it has also given me the invaluable opportunity to explore and learn about various additional areas of the arts.” — MELIA BOHN ’24

“At ICON I was provided with an immensely safe and supportive environment where I could be myself, offer new ideas, and commit to new ventures that I would never have thought to explore prior to enrollment.” — ANDREAS WARREN ’24

“At ICON, I have gotten to learn different acting, singing, and visual art techniques that have prepared me for college. I appreciate all of the teachers for being so supportive and pushing me to become not only a better performer, but also a better human.” — AVERY SLAUBAUGH ’24

I could go on and on about my time at ICON. I feel extremely lucky to have learned so much already from the talented, kind, and amazing teachers and students who support me and genuinely want me to succeed. I am deeply grateful for the joy the Iowa Conservatory has brought to me, and I will treasure it forever.” — EVELYN INGERSOLL, 8TH GRADE

You deserve one-on-one instruction.

At ICON, that’s what we’re best at. As a small performing and visual arts high school, we’re able to give every student individual attention — and in much more than just their chosen area of study. It’s not uncommon to find a Musical Theatre major in a private piano lesson or a Dance major in an independent costume design study. Our interdisciplinary approach to the arts allows students to really dig in and explore every aspect of their creativity that piques their interest.

One-on-one instruction helps our students stand out — especially when it comes time to prepare audition tapes and portfolios for college applications. Juniors and seniors have dedicated, solo class time to prepare for college auditions and applications. This format pays off, and pays off well. We’ve sent students to Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Molloy University’s CAP21 Conservatory, and Florida State University’s musical theatre program… and that’s just from our first year. Imagine what a full high school experience at ICON can deliver!
