Biography

Meg Tisinger is a licensed ELA teacher and brings 12+ years of experience to Iowa Conservatory, previously working in student support roles in the Iowa City Community School District. She holds a Master’s in School Library Studies from the University of Northern Iowa.

Originally from Davenport, Meg moved to Iowa City for college and stayed for the community’s strong connection to writing and the arts. Her teaching centers on curiosity, connection, and creating inclusive spaces where all students feel seen and valued. She believes in the power of diverse texts and inquiry-driven learning to foster student voice and identity—and is especially excited to support performing arts students and bring creativity into the classroom in meaningful ways.

In her free-time, Meg enjoys spending time in nature, writing music, being with family and friends, and exploring various creative projects.
