Jaycee Li

Jaycee Li teaches pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, geometry, and precalculus at Iowa Conservatory. During the 2025–2026 school year, he taught pre-algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, and geometry. In the 2026–2027 school year, he will continue teaching those courses and will also teach precalculus.

Jaycee is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Statistics and Educational Measurement at the University of Iowa. He also holds an M.S. in Digital Age Teaching and Learning Technology from Johns Hopkins University. His academic background combines mathematics, statistics, educational measurement, and educational technology, with a focus on data-driven instruction, assessment, machine learning, and natural language processing in education.

Jaycee has worked as a research assistant for the Iowa Testing Program and the Center for Advanced Studies in Measurement and Assessment, where he analyzed student achievement data, developed innovative assessment approaches, and explored applications of large language models and statistical methods in education. His professional accomplishments include two accepted conference proposals, “Fine-Tuning Generative Models for Text Summarization with Limited Data: A Practical Guide” and “The Effect of Different Text Processing Techniques on Language Model Classification,” accepted by AERA and NCME. He also has three papers related to large language models and statistical methods currently under journal review.

At ICON, Jaycee is committed to helping students build strong mathematical foundations through clear explanations, structured problem-solving, and connections to real-world applications. He hopes to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and confidence in his students while contributing to a school community that values both academic excellence and artistic creativity.

Outside of teaching and research, Jaycee enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
