Audition Dates:
- Monday, January 27 & Tuesday, January 28, 6:00–8:30 PM
- 10-minute slots (sign up required).
Callbacks:
- Auditioners may be asked to stay for callbacks on the same day as their audition.
- Additional callbacks (if needed): Wednesday, January 29, 7:30–9:30 PM.
Audition Location:
- ICON, 123 N. Linn St, Iowa City.Signage will direct you to the audition room.
What to Prepare:
- A 16–32 bar cut (about 1 minute) of a song from or in the style of the show.
- You may be asked to sing or read additional selections during your audition.
What to Bring:
- Required: A hard copy of your completed audition form
- Optional: Headshot & theater résumé.
Casting Offers:

ICON will send out casting offers within a week of callbacks.

Auditioners will have 24 hours from the time the email is sent to accept their role.

As part of accepting your offer, we ask that you take a final opportunity to double check your conflicts and submit any changes when accepting your role (please see the conflict policies and contract in our audition form document)
Rehearsal Schedule:
- Beginning March 3, 2025: Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, 6:00–9:00 PM at ICON.
- May 5, 2025: Rehearsals move to The James Theatre.
- Cast members will only be scheduled to come to rehearsals when we are staging or working material that their character(s) is/are in. We send out a weekly rehearsal breakdown at the top of every week. This means every actor should plan to be at every rehearsal, unless you have previously noted conflicts, and enjoy your time off if you are not needed on occasion.
- Please note that no conflicts are permitted on noted tech rehearsal or performance days from Monday, May 5-18, 2025 unless it has been discussed with the ICON creative team prior to casting completion.
Performance Dates at The James Theatre:
- Possible Previews or Invited Dress Rehearsals: May 14 & 15, 7:30 PM.
- Performances: May 16 at 7:30 PM, May 17 at 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM, May 18 at 2:00 PM.
Notes:
- No conflicts allowed during tech rehearsals or performances (May 5–18, 2025) unless pre-approved.
