On May 31, 2024, Iowa Conservatory graduated our first-ever class of seniors. All Musical Theatre majors, Melia Bohn, Londyn Kirol, Avery Slaubaugh, and Andreas Warren gave solo performances at The James Theater before receiving their diplomas from Founder and Head of School Leslie Nolte. This cohort of graduates embodies everything we have dreamed of ICON becoming: talented, creative, and willing to explore multiple forms of artistic expression to inform their craft. Witnessing their interdisciplinary approach to musical theatre this year has been such a joy for our faculty and staff. Congratulations to ICON’s Class of 2024!
Class of 2024 Postgraduate Plans
Each of our incredible graduates has big plans for the future. Gap year student Melia Bohn will enter directly into professional work, with her debut performance in a regional production mere weeks away. Melia will perform in Riverside Theater’s production of Julius Caesar, part of their free Shakespeare in the Park series in Iowa City.
Londyn Kirol plans to pursue her BFA in Musical Theatre at Florida State University, where she is one of only eight students across the country admitted to the prestigious program.
Avery Slaubaugh will attend Molloy University’s CAP21 Conservatory, where she will join their BFA Musical Theatre program in New York City.
Andreas Warren is moving to Boston, where he will pursue his BFA in Musical Theatre at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
We are beyond proud of our first class of graduates for all of their successes! Their final school decisions show only a small fraction of the prestigious theatre programs that accepted them across the country, thanks to all of the focused, one-on-one instruction they received while preparing college auditions and applications. We can not wait to see what the future holds for the Class of 2024 — it is certainly the beginning of a long legacy of success for Iowa Conservatory graduates!
