TAKE A PEEK INSIDE IOWA CONSERVATORY

At ICON, every corner of our campus brims with creativity and passion. From the bustling rehearsal rooms to the serene art studios, our students have been crafting their stories and exploring new ways to grow as artists.
This trimester, we’ve celebrated countless achievements—from inspiring performances to exciting artistic breakthroughs. The energy on campus has been nothing short of extraordinary!
We invite you to take a closer look at what makes our community special and everything we’ve been up to during this exciting first trimester!

From Practice to Performance
ICON’s production of She Kills Monsters was a huge success, with three memorable performances that had us all laughing and moved by its heartfelt moments.

We thank you, our ICON community, for your participation and support in the fall play, both in sharing your talents and passion on and off the stage, and as audience members! It was great to see so many faculty, staff, friends and family in attendance.

Oktoberfest Fun
ICON students led singing and a maypole dance on a beautiful September afternoon during Northside Oktoberfest. Afterward, they served root beer floats alongside faculty. It was a joy to see their talents shine while engaging eager participants in song and movement!

In the Studio
ICON participated in the Iowa City Downtown District’s Art Gallery Walk this fall. Kyle opened up the visual art studio and many of our students represented us, welcoming the larger community into our space. It was so much fun to interact with and tell Iowa City folks more about our school, all while displaying the beautiful visual arts projects our students have been working on. We were so proud to show their work! Watch a fun recap video here!

Guest Spotlight
We were thrilled to welcome the talented Kate Vanderleest and Katie Milani as guest teachers in dance seminar, who shared their expertise and passion for dance!

The Music Man Hats of ICON
ICON students collaborated with Kristen to design and construct six beautiful Edwardian-style hats, which served as centerpieces for this year’s American Orff Schulwerk Association (AOSA) National Music Conference held in Des Moines this month.

Nearly a thousand music educators from around the world attended the conference and banquet, where our students’ work was prominently displayed as a representation of our six art departments. We are always excited to share more about ICON!

Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Trimester Two!
