Soon, ICON students will begin the process of moving into their dorms for the 2024-2025 school year! Londyn Kirol, a 2024 ICON graduate, shares some tips for dorm living to help new students live comfortably in their space — after all, it is their home-away-from-home. 

“First things first: Iowa Weather. Summers in a dorm can get hot — I definitely recommend having a portable fan in your living space in case the AC needs an extra hand. On the contrary, they also get super cold! Storing extra blankets was definitely super helpful for me this year.”

Londyn also recommends an air purifier to help with allergies, plug-in air fresheners, and extra power strips to improve the experience. With move-in just around the corner, we hope students find these tips for dorm living helpful! Don’t worry, though — if anything is forgotten or needed at a later date, our incredible Student Life Team is ready to help ensure each student’s living space truly feels like home.
