Admissions Counselor

Position Overview

ICON is seeking a Part-Time Admissions Counselor to lead and manage the student recruitment and enrollment process. This role is ideal for someone with prior admissions experience who thrives in a relationship-driven environment and is passionate about guiding families through an alternative education model.

The Admissions Counselor will play a key role in shaping the prospective student journey, from first inquiry through enrollment, while ensuring a seamless, organized, and welcoming experience for all families.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions & Enrollment Management

  • Oversee the full admissions cycle: inquiry, tour, application, interview, acceptance, and enrollment
  • Maintain and manage admissions pipeline, tracking prospective students and follow-ups
  • Communicate consistently with prospective families via email, phone, and in-person meetings
  • Lead campus tours, open houses, and admissions events
  • Identify key prospective markets, establishing and cultivating referral networks

Family Experience

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families
  • Clearly communicate ICON’s mission, programs, and value proposition
  • Guide families through decision-making and enrollment steps
  • Ensure a high-touch, personalized admissions experience

Operations & Organization

  • Develop and refine admissions processes, systems, and timelines
  • Manage application materials and student records
  • Collaborate with marketing on outreach campaigns and messaging
  • Track and report on admissions metrics and enrollment goals

Strategic Growth Support

  • Manage recruitment initiatives and community outreach efforts
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve conversion rates and enrollment experience
  • Provide expertise and feedback to leadership on trends, challenges, and opportunities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in school admissions, enrollment management, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build trust and connect with students and families
  • Experience with CRM systems or admissions software preferred
  • Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time (hours flexible based on admissions cycle needs)
  • Compensation commensurate with experience
  • Base pay plus commission pay
  • Financial incentives for incremental enrollment growth to be negotiated with the offer
