Middle School STEAM

An immersive STEAM program for ambitious 6th–7th graders that lays the foundation for advanced academic and artistic growth.

What We Offer

Our STEAM curriculum integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Math — empowering students to explore real-world concepts through active, project-based learning.

  • Core classes in math, science, social studies, and language arts

  • Deep integration of arts, technology, and design thinking

  • Competency-based placement in math and language

Arts-Infused Education

Students take 5-8 arts classes plus core academic classes each semester with STEAM-focused curriculum. Coursework spans all ICON arts disciplines with practice room and studio time included.

Middle school students receive rigorous and broad arts experiences. Arts include 5-8 semester-long courses in each area over two years.

6th-7th Grade Required Courses
  • Global Studies
  • English Language Arts
  • Food and Nutrition; Yoga, Movement, and Mindfulness
  • Math
  • Exploratory STEAM Science
  • Spanish

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Students receive formative verbal and written feedback with rubrics, and receive standards-based assessment and letter grades (A, B, or C) at the end of a course.
  • Mid-terms indicate Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory progress. Students receiving a U will work with the Dean of Students/Guardian to put a learning plan in place.
